Over $50,000 Raised for Cobb Nonprofits at 25th Anniversary Celebration

Inspiring Charitable Giving, Building Resources for the Future and Connecting Donors who Care with Causes that matter. The newly established mission statement for the Cobb Community Foundation has never been more present than it was Sunday, October 21st as community members and philanthropists gathered to raise funds for the 2019 Cobb Community Impact Grants (CCIG). Together, they gave $55,343 in a matter of minutes, ensuring that the CCIG will continue now and into the future.

These individuals proved, and set the precedent from here on out, that

TOGETHER WE CAN

“It made me so very proud & happy to be there and to realize that dreams do indeed come true when there are enough committed & passionate people to make them happen!!!”

-Sue Wootton, 2nd Executive Director of the Cobb Community Foundation

With several hundred people in attendance, the ‘Together We Can’ event was a resounding success. Communities leaders such as Kim Gresh, Otis Brumby III and Randy Thompson presented pieces of the program in addition to Founding Executive Director Rae Weimer. Sponsors such as SA White, Wellstar Health Systems, MopDog Creative Strategies, and more poured out in support of making an impact.

Shari Martin, current Executive Director, said she is proud to think about all the people the foundation has helped assist over its 25 years, but she is more interested in the next 25 years.

“It’s incredibly rewarding, but we also know that there are many, many, many more needs, and our job has just begun … We would love to be in a position to be able to make sure that every need in the community is met,” she said. “That is our ultimate reason for being.”

Our vision of a community fully engaged in meeting needs now and into the future is one step closer to being realized after Sunday. It will be another step further along on April 26, 2019 as we award these funds, and more, at our annual Partners and Philanthropy Luncheon.
